Thanks to teachers of sixth grade Language Arts and Social Studies especially,
leading the way with a smile and solid plan,
modeling use of notecards to keep track of goals and resources for standard research paper.
Yes, teachers of Mathematics and World Languages too,
you modeled easy, kind way using diverse cards to adopt grammar, phrases, structure, vocabulary.
Thanks to wellness advocates/counselors/doctors/nurses/teachers,
reminding about the flip side of the card, containing correct translation OR opposing-thinking-block.
Y2K, the year 2000,
I began the practice and study of graphically filling one three by five inch note-card per day.
I was blessedly full learning the art of leading and learning at the time,
teaching at Perris High School in Perris, CA
meeting amazing human beings,
young through mature.
Yet, of course, my heart, she wanted more. ART! ART! ART!
Short story long, complete with windy gaps too,
some times quickly, other times slow roll, one by one,
since eye began this relatively focused practice and study
my dreams kept coming true beyond imagination, magically changing my mind.
I am artist, says the front of one of my Y2K cards,
the flip-side reveals absolute negative of that: nothingness...
...I saw and heard that you had to be dead to show in a museum,
so I abandoned that dream around age seven, maybe 9...
Eleven, almost twelve years after my abstract flashcard card practice and study began,
I was humbled and honored,
invited to show my art at the Petaluma Historical Museum
by the Voice of Roma, northern California non-profits.
Pink Lady and
Finnish Trees*Kintala*Universal Balance
are Y2K and beyond notecards I drew then expanded on larger canvas through the years,
transforming into art that showed in 2012 "Roma: Crossing the Borders Exhibit".
Participating at the renowned Petaluma Historical Museum former first free public CA library,
in this impacting Gypsy/Rrom art, culture, history exhibit,
I privately sensed that the time year Voice of Roma chose for show,
I could carry on each year.

2013 * Recovery from lifetime slew of abuses triggered by series of recent since 2009,
nearly killed myself and others before thankfully reclaiming my joyful, peaceful skirts again.
2014 * Roma: Crossing the Borders, I extended virtual one woman show, sharing old and new.
Humbly sharing miracles of life for myself and others
as happy reminder and humane trail guides
in between International Women's Day and International Rroma Day 2015,
my traveling tolerance exhibit shows how to go from crisis to survival to best dreams coming true.
Yes, liberal arts saves life in unimaginable ways.
2014, around the same timeline as the art 2012 exhibit manifested,
my doctors and nurses informed me a cluster of calcifications of different sizes lay within right boob.
"pearls of wisdom" immediately I named, a notecard made, three months later, healthy report, DR!
Of course, it is not as simple as that!
Creating, maintaining, (applying/using) playing with your DIY stack,
you know, flash*cards are a discipline and an art,
only you can study and practice, all alone or with your Loves.

Happy Birthday for a few of my dear, sweet relatives from different families flung far and wide,

I could run a marathon while bleeding, yes,
'tis true, I'd probably shuffle a bit slower
than eye moved during 2005 LA jog,
thankfully then 'twas challenged and encouraged by another dear one, two, three...
oops, I digress and dribble drabble,
the point is,
this is the bloody period of time and space
I choose each month for my body, heart and mind to rest.
